Voyageurs National Park in northern Minnesota is near the Canadian border. And we got to explore this remote park for 3 days. We visited the 3 main areas of Ash River, Kabetogama Lake and Rainy Lake. The 3 visitor centers were all different and provided opportunities to explore the park by land. But we also got out on the water, the best way to experience this park. We traveled through some of the same waters the French Canadian voyageurs did in the 18th century. We explored Rainy Lake, Kabetogama Lake, Namakan Lake and more. We saw lots of wildlife and learned a lot about the varied history of this region.
